Dame Julie Andrews has clinched her first Emmy Award for her portrayal of Lady Whistledown in the hit series “Bridgerton.”

The 89-year-old actress, who was nominated multiple times before, emerged victorious in the Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance category at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys. She triumphed over tough competition from notable talents like Hank Azaria and Maya Rudolph.

Although Andrews did not attend the ceremony, the award was accepted on her behalf by presenter Craig Robinson. This win marks a significant achievement for Andrews, who had previously received Emmy nominations for her roles in “Bridgerton” and “Queen Charlotte.”

“Bridgerton,” which debuted on Netflix in 2020, featured Andrews in a voice-over role where she never physically met her co-stars. Despite the distance, Andrews praised the show’s cast and production team, expressing her delight in being part of the series.

In other Emmy news, the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards saw top winners like “The Studio,” “The Penguin,” and “Severance” dominating the night. These shows secured multiple awards in various categories, showcasing their excellence in scripted programming and animation.

“The Studio” led with nine wins, including accolades for Bryan Cranston and outstanding production design. “The Penguin” followed closely with eight awards for its makeup, costumes, and visual effects. Meanwhile, “Severance” secured six wins, highlighted by Merritt Wever’s outstanding performance and exceptional production design.

Additionally, shows like “Andor,” “Arcane,” and “Love, Death + Robot” each received four Emmy Awards, further adding to the diversity of winners at the prestigious event.
