Chelsea has been fined by the Football Association (FA) following an incident where a water bottle was thrown at Aston Villa’s bench during a Premier League match. The FA stated that Chelsea breached Rule E20.1 by failing to control their players and staff around the technical area after the game. The club admitted the charge, leading to a £150,000 fine imposed by an independent Regulatory Commission.

The Commission emphasized the seriousness of the act, comparing it to violence if a spectator had done the same. Referee Stuart Attwell reported that an unidentified Chelsea member threw a bottle towards Aston Villa’s technical area after the match. Chelsea conducted an investigation but could not identify the responsible party. The incident occurred during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Villa, which marked Enzo Maresca’s penultimate game in charge before his subsequent dismissal.

Following Maresca’s departure, Liam Rosenior, a former Strasbourg boss, took over with a six-and-a-half-year deal. Chelsea is set to play against Crystal Palace and Napoli in their upcoming fixtures. Additionally, Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, now including HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu along with extensive sports coverage.
