Carol McGiffin’s husband, Mark Cassidy, did not approve of her facelift, as revealed recently. The former Loose Women star underwent the cosmetic procedure in 2018 and, although Carol, aged 65, is satisfied with the outcome, she has sworn off any future surgeries due to the distressing experience she endured during the process.
In a recent interview with Woman’s Own, Carol, who tied the knot with her 43-year-old partner in Thailand in February 2018, expressed her reluctance to undergo another facelift, citing the ordeal as too traumatic. She mentioned that the end result was positive, but the process felt like “butchery” and was quite severe.
Carol admitted in her Best magazine column back in October 2025 that the facelift did not provide the lasting results she had hoped for, leading her to have negative feelings towards her own appearance. She expressed her dismay at not recognizing herself in the mirror anymore and lamented not opting for less invasive treatments like Botox over the years.
Despite her dissatisfaction with the outcome, Carol acknowledged her husband’s support for her natural look. Mark appreciates her as she is and doesn’t seem to mind the changes. Carol humorously mentioned the age gap between them and how Mark’s clear vision contrasts with her own aging process, but she appreciates that they are both aging gracefully in their own ways.
