A 20-year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario, has been arrested in connection with an investigation into the transportation of cocaine from Canada to Hong Kong. Authorities have charged the individual with exporting a Schedule 1 substance and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense. The man made a court appearance in Kitchener for a bail hearing last Friday.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service initiated the investigation in September 2025 following the arrest of a 20-year-old woman from Cambridge at Hong Kong International Airport. She was found with 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine in her luggage. Recently, local law enforcement, in collaboration with various partners, apprehended a man from Markham, Ontario, believed to be linked to the drug network aiding the Cambridge woman in traveling from Toronto to Hong Kong.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
