BBC Radio 2 host Owain Wyn Evans is recuperating following urgent gallbladder surgery and has expressed gratitude towards the NHS personnel who cared for him. The 41-year-old, recognized for his roles on Homes Under The Hammer and Radio 2’s Early Breakfast Show, notified his supporters that he will be taking a break while recovering at Llandough Hospital in Cardiff.
Taking to social media, Owain shared an update, revealing, “I had some problematic polyps in my gallbladder, which had to be removed. Everything is well now. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at West Ward 6 and the surgical team at Llandough Hospital.”
He mentioned, “I will be off work for a while recovering and receiving care from Nurse Franny and Dr. Arran (who, though not a medical doctor, is doing a commendable job).”
