A popular deodorant manufacturer, Mitchum, has advised customers to check the batch numbers on their products. This action comes as the company works to remove items from store shelves following reports of customers experiencing injuries.

After receiving complaints about developing painful and itchy rashes from using their deodorants, Mitchum issued an apology. The company urged affected individuals to discontinue using the product immediately.

Several customers took to social media platforms like TikTok to share videos and images of inflamed armpits after using certain roll-on deodorants from the brand. While some speculated that ingredient changes were to blame, Mitchum clarified that the issue stemmed from a modification in the manufacturing process of one of its raw materials.

Mitchum acknowledged that some users had reported temporary irritation from specific batches of the 48-hour 100ml roll-on deodorant sold in the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. The company expressed regret for the impact on customers and the time taken to investigate the matter.

However, an Instagram post addressing the issue faced backlash from dissatisfied customers. Some individuals expressed concerns about severe reactions, including burns and scarring, with one stating they would no longer purchase Mitchum products.

The company admitted that the manufacturing change had affected how the product interacted with the skin for some users. Mitchum assured customers that they had reverted to the original process to ensure future batches met expected standards.

Not all product batches were affected by the issue, and customers can identify impacted deodorants by checking the batch number at the bottle’s bottom. Mitchum confirmed that no other products in their lineup were affected.

The company assured consumers that the problem had been resolved, and efforts were underway to remove any remaining affected products from shelves. Customers experiencing issues were encouraged to contact Mitchum’s Customer Care team for assistance.

To address concerns, Mitchum advised individuals experiencing problems to discontinue use immediately and reach out to their customer service team through email or phone.
