Asda has introduced a new pricing pledge, offering lower prices on over 2,300 everyday items compared to Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons loyalty card prices. The discounted products include fresh meat, produce, chilled goods, core groceries, and bakery items.

In addition, Asda is running a promotion in January where customers will receive 10% cashback in their Asda Rewards Cashpot for all fresh produce purchases made in-store.

Rachel Eyre, Chief Customer Officer at Asda, emphasized the aim to assist families in managing post-holiday budgets by providing the best prices on frequently purchased items. The Asda Price promise ensures competitive and transparent pricing accessible to all customers without the need for a loyalty card.

Following a challenging Christmas season, Asda experienced a decline in market share to 11.4% in the 12 weeks ending December 28, as reported by Worldpanel analysts. Sales at Asda dropped by 4.2%, marking the 22nd consecutive month of decline, while competitors Tesco and Sainsbury’s attracted more customers, widening the gap with Asda.

Recently, Tesco announced its commitment to maintaining the affordability of 3,000 branded products under the new Everyday Low Prices initiative.
