Priced at £39.99, the Fire TV Stick HD is the latest entry-level product from the tech giant. The new Fire TV Stick HD is now 30% narrower, making it easier to fit behind TVs and more portable for users on the go. One notable feature is its power source, as it can draw power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.
According to Amazon, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our slimmest streaming device yet, with a smaller volume and width than previous models, optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port, allowing it to fit neatly behind a TV without requiring an additional power adapter.”
Like other Fire TV Sticks, the device provides instant access to popular streaming services such as Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. It also includes a remote control with Alexa voice search and quick-launch buttons for apps.
While it does not support 4K quality, the Fire TV Stick HD offers full HD viewing, suitable for most households. Amazon claims that the new device delivers significant speed improvements compared to previous HD models, with over 30% faster performance on average, resulting in quicker start-up times and app launches.
