Ruth Jones has decided to sell her beautiful marital residence as she gears up to collaborate once again with her Gavin & Stacey partner, James Corden. The 58-year-old actress and writer has listed her impressive property for £1,150,000 following her separation from husband David Peet.
After the end of their 25-year marriage, Ruth, famous for her role as Nessa in the BBC sitcom, has moved forward with the sale of their home. The couple, who split some time ago, announced their separation earlier this year, prompting Ruth to make the decision to part with the house they once shared.
Ruth and David have not been seen together at their Penylan, Cardiff property for nearly two years. The furnishings have been removed from the mock Tudor home they acquired in 2001.
The five-bedroom semi-detached house was bought for £325,000, and they are expected to make a substantial profit of £825,000 from the sale. Besides their Cardiff home, Ruth and David also own a vacation property in Scotland and previously operated a well-liked restaurant named Peet’s in Lochinver village.
Since their separation, Ruth has been residing in London, while David has relocated to Canada with his new partner, Jayne Charity Cook. Their three-story home offers views of a park and features original fireplaces, tiling, and wooden floors. The property is described by the estate agent as a “handsome, three-story bay-fronted Edwardian style residence, retaining charm and character, sympathetically extended, choice position overlooking Roath Park recreation fields.”
In a joint statement released in June, Ruth and David clarified their amicable separation 18 months ago, confirming that they are legally separated and remain good friends. Ruth became a stepmother to David’s three children from a previous marriage.
Ruth and David first met while filming a BBC comedy pilot in the early 90s. Their relationship began during a period when David was still married, leading to subsequent challenges in their personal lives.
As Ruth immerses herself in work, she is set to reunite with James Corden for future projects. Reports suggest that the duo has secured a substantial deal with AppleTV+ for a new ten-part comedy drama to be filmed in the UK starting next year.
