Ed Sheeran and Phoebe Dynevor from Bridgerton star in the latest music video for Ed’s track “Camera,” part of his newly released album, Play. The eighth album has been highly anticipated and is out today, on September 12.
To mark the album release, the singer unveiled the official music video for “Camera,” featuring Phoebe Dynevor. Directed by Emil Nava, known for his work on Ed’s “Lego House” video with Rupert Grint, the “Camera” video depicts the early stages of a romantic relationship.
Filmed entirely on an iPhone, the video showcases Ed and Phoebe’s characters as they meet at a restaurant, go on various dates like picnics and bar-hopping, and even share the stage during one of Ed’s stadium tours.
Initially, Ed considered using personal footage with his wife, Cherry, for the video. However, due to their preference for privacy, he decided to recreate those moments with Phoebe instead.
Describing his latest album as a response to a challenging period in his life, Ed aimed to infuse joy and vibrant colors into the music while exploring different cultures from his tour destinations.
Despite his roots in Suffolk, where he currently resides with his family, Ed revealed plans to move to the United States to be closer to his wife and daughters, Lyra and Jupiter. Growing up with strong ties to Ireland through his father, who is from Belfast, Ed has always felt a deep connection to Irish culture, even referring to Ireland as his “second home musically.”
Embracing his cultural heritage with pride, Ed expressed his affinity for Ireland and its influence on his music, highlighting the significance of his Irish roots in shaping his identity.
