Katie Price’s partner, JJ Slater, recently shared insights on their planned joint cosmetic surgery trip to Turkey and why it didn’t proceed for him due to his Type 1 diabetes condition. The 32-year-old former participant of “Married At First Sight UK” had intended to undergo a simultaneous cosmetic procedure alongside the 47-year-old model but had to cancel his part due to medical concerns.
During an interview with The Sun, JJ disclosed, “I traveled to Turkey with the intention of getting rid of the bags under my eyes, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be done.” He explained further, “Although I was all set for the surgery, my diabetes condition was flagged due to blood sugar levels. I was actually diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after my appearance on the show.”
Reflecting on the impact of the diagnosis on his life, JJ shared, “The diagnosis of type 1 diabetes has been a significant event post the show, reshaping many aspects of my daily routine. Being an autoimmune disease, I delved into research to understand it better, considering stress as a potential trigger, though not scientifically proven.”
Recalling the onset of his symptoms, JJ recounted, “At 31, I experienced sudden health issues for about two months, which I initially ignored. It was only when my health deteriorated significantly that I sought medical attention and received the diabetes diagnosis.”
