David Malukas set the pace during practice at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy held in Markham. Malukas clocked an impressive time of 1 minute and 14.194 seconds in the second session of the day, with qualifying scheduled for the evening.

Following closely behind, Alex Palou secured the second-fastest time with 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third spot, completing the Markham downtown road course in 1:14.592.

Due to incomplete track construction and pending safety inspections, the organizers had to cancel the initial day of track activities.

This year marks the first time that Markham has hosted the race, following its relocation from Toronto’s Exhibition Place, where it had been held since its inception in 1986.

Earlier in the day, Palou had topped the time charts in the first practice session, recording a time of 1:14.9915.
