Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride put on a remarkable performance on Sunday, thrilling the home crowd at the Target Center. McBride set a new WNBA single-game record by sinking 10 3-pointers in a 103-90 victory against the Dallas Wings. Her impressive shooting display included making 10 of 14 attempts from beyond the arc, resulting in a career-high 43 points.

With 2:23 remaining in the game, McBride broke the record, extending the Lynx’s lead to 98-83, before exiting the court to a standing ovation with 1:21 left. Grateful for the support from the fans and the organization, McBride expressed her love for Minneapolis, emphasizing her desire to excel and give back to the community that embraced her.

Previously, the record for 3-pointers in a game stood at nine, achieved on eight occasions, with Marina Mabrey of Toronto accomplishing the feat twice this season. McBride’s outstanding performance also contributed to the Lynx setting a new franchise record for 3-pointers made in a single game, with the team finishing 18 of 39 from long range.

The victory marked Minnesota’s 12th win in 13 games, solidifying their spot as the first team to secure a playoff berth this season. McBride’s stellar showing added to the Lynx’s offensive dominance, with the team surpassing 100 points in four of their last six games.

Reflecting on her exceptional performance, McBride expressed gratitude for her enduring career and the decision to return to Minnesota, highlighting the special moments like this record-breaking game that reaffirm her choice.
