A man, aged 39, has been formally accused of the killing of a housekeeper found stabbed in her rural Hampshire residence. The victim, Gilly Livie, aged 68, was discovered by emergency responders and law enforcement officials at her thatched cottage in Cheriton, Hampshire, at 10:30 a.m. on January 9. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene, with a subsequent examination determining that the cause of death was a stab wound to the neck.
Another individual was found at the same location and was promptly taken to a medical facility with severe injuries, as confirmed by Hampshire police. Subsequently, the man was apprehended on Monday on suspicion of murder and later moved from the hospital to police custody.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the police declared: “This evening, Daniel Livie, residing at Winstreet Close, Alton, has been formally charged with murder.” Additionally, he is facing allegations of issuing threats to kill a man on January 8. Livie is scheduled to appear before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
