If you own a Fire TV Stick connected to your TV, it’s important to take note of a crucial deadline set by Amazon. The tech giant has outlined specific timelines for software support and potential end dates for security updates.
According to Amazon, they will provide software security updates for your device for a minimum of four years from the original purchase date. Beyond that period, they may continue releasing security updates for as long as feasible, as stated in an online announcement by Amazon.
So, when is the deadline for receiving guaranteed software patches?
Most of Amazon’s current Fire TV Sticks will receive updates until December 31, 2030. However, the exception is the Fire TV Stick 4K (1st Generation), which may receive its final update on December 31, 2029.
