Prince Harry is set to return to the UK in the coming days to provide testimony in a significant legal case. The Duke of Sussex and a group of six others are suing Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) in London, alleging the company engaged in illegal activities to obtain and publish private information. The group includes notable figures like Sir Elton John, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Sir Simon Hughes, and actresses Sadie Frost and Liz Hurley. Prince Harry is scheduled to testify for a full day next Thursday as per the case’s draft timetable.

The trial is slated to commence on Monday at London’s Royal Court of Justice, although the exact arrival date of Prince Harry in the UK is yet to be confirmed. Barrister David Sherborne, representing the claimants, emphasized the seriousness of the case with allegations of fraud, dishonesty, and professional misconduct against ANL. The publishing company, responsible for the Daily Mail among other publications, vehemently refutes these accusations.

During his visit, Prince Harry is not expected to meet with his father, King Charles, who is in Scotland for the remainder of his winter break before resuming royal duties. Royal sources shared that King Charles aims to avoid any association with the court proceedings to maintain distance from the legal matter.

Prince Harry’s trip to the UK coincides with his pending review by Ravec on police protection during his visits. Following the loss of his legal battle to reinstate automatic police protection, the Home Office has initiated a comprehensive threat assessment, the first since 2020. The review outcome by Ravec is anticipated this month, with close sources expressing confidence in the possible restoration of his protection, potentially enabling his family’s visit to the UK.

Speculations regarding palace interference in the decision-making process were dismissed by a former royal aide, clarifying that the Palace does not influence Ravec’s decisions on threat analysis or security measures.
