An elderly man was apprehended for attempting to board a flight with his deceased wife in a wheelchair at Tenerife South Airport. Security personnel raised concerns about the woman’s condition, prompting emergency procedures to be activated. The couple’s identities, the specific date of the incident, and the airline involved have not been disclosed.

According to reports from Spanish newspaper Diario de Avisos, the man was seen pushing his wife in the wheelchair, initially appearing like a typical elderly couple about to travel. However, suspicions arose when the woman was found unresponsive and with a low body temperature.

After further inspection, it was discovered that the woman had passed away, with the husband claiming she had died at the airport a few hours earlier. Allegations that he tried to blame the airport for her death are currently being investigated.

The man was taken into custody at the airport and is said to be cooperating with authorities as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. This incident follows the recent death of an elderly woman on an EasyJet flight from Malaga to London, where conflicting reports emerged about her health status before boarding the flight.
