Justin Rose expressed his ongoing aspiration to achieve a career Grand Slam following his triumph at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he surpassed Tiger Woods’ scoring record. The 45-year-old Ryder Cup veteran dismissed rumors of an immediate move into a leadership role for the European team, emphasizing his belief in his future prospects.

“I remain optimistic about what lies ahead for me,” stated the current world No.3.

Starting with an impressive 62, Rose maintained his lead throughout the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, finishing at 23-under 265. This performance outshined Tiger Woods’ 1999 and George Burns’ 1987 showings at the same venue.

Apologizing to Tiger Woods during a post-match interview, Rose acknowledged his focus on breaking Woods’ record in the final holes of the tournament. Reflecting on his recent successes, Rose attributed his improved play to enhanced mental maturity and solid tee-to-green performance in California.

With 13 tour victories at prestigious venues like Muirfield Village, Aronimink, Merion, and others, Rose remains driven to achieve more in his career, particularly aiming for further major wins. Despite already clinching the 2013 US Open title and an Olympic gold, Rose is determined to secure multiple victories in significant tournaments.

Brooks Koepka, on the other hand, finished tied 56th in his return to the PGA Tour, as the new season of the Saudi-backed league gears up to commence.

Unlike some players, Rose declined an early offer from the LIV Golf league, emphasizing his commitment to competing on both the European Tour and PGA TOUR. He emphasized his desire to face the best players globally as his primary motivation for staying competitive and focused on achieving his career goals.
