A mother of two tragically passed away after falling off a tall stool at a hotel bar. Kadie Hunt, 38, fell from a bar stool at Welbeck Manor, a boutique golf hotel in Sparkwell, Devon, following an afternoon of drinking with her cousin and friends. Surveillance footage showed Kadie consuming several alcoholic drinks. Despite the fall, Kadie declined assistance and appeared fine, brushing off the incident as she was taken home by a friend.
The next morning, Kadie was discovered unresponsive at her home and was rushed to a hospital in Plymouth. Unfortunately, she succumbed to a traumatic brain injury. An inquest revealed that Kadie had suffered a fatal head injury after falling off the stool and hitting her head on a fireplace.
CCTV footage from the hotel captured Kadie stumbling and hitting her head on the fireplace surround. The cause of death was determined to be a traumatic brain bleed, consistent with the fall. The coroner reported that Kadie, who drank heavily, was extremely intoxicated at the time of the accident. The inquest concluded her death was accidental, exacerbated by alcohol intoxication.
Kadie’s mother shared that Kadie, a generous person in life, continued her selflessness in death by donating her organs. Remembered as a kind-hearted individual, Kadie’s legacy lives on through the lives she saved with her organ donations. The Welbeck Manor expressed deep sadness over Kadie’s passing, highlighting her positive impact on the staff.
