Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as another streaming service, HBO Max, has been added to select plans at no extra cost. Subscribers with the Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon without the usual £4.99 monthly fee, saving over £50.
Sky confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q customers with the right package will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service, previously available in the USA, offers a vast selection of HBO dramas, including favorites like Succession and The Wire, as well as new Max Originals like The Pitt. Additionally, viewers can access a broad range of Warner Bros. films.
Getting started with HBO Max is straightforward for eligible Sky customers. By launching the HBO Max app from the homepage, users can follow on-screen instructions to activate the service and start streaming content on demand.
For those not currently on Sky Ultimate TV, switching to that plan from £22 per month (increasing to £24 from April 1st) will provide access to over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, stated, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW, bringing Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu together in a single subscription, offering unparalleled entertainment integration.” NOW Entertainment customers will also receive HBO Max as part of their subscription, seamlessly integrated into the NOW app.
Non-Sky subscribers can directly sign up for HBO Max on the service’s website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
