Shrewd Amanda Holden had a feeling that Alan Carr performed admirably on The Celebrity Traitors even before he informed her, as he went silent for a duration of two weeks. The Britain’s Got Talent judge sensed her close friend’s achievement when Alan, aged 49, refrained from contacting her during the show’s filming at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands earlier this year, a departure from their usual daily conversations.
Subsequently, Alan emerged as the victor of The Celebrity Traitors, although he was obligated to keep the outcome confidential. Amanda, aged 54, had an inkling that he had excelled on the program. She remarked, “I was certain he had done well as I did not hear from him for two weeks, whereas we typically communicate daily.” Amanda also noted the sudden surge in Alan’s popularity among a new generation, attributing it to social media trends like TikToks and memes.
Reflecting on Alan’s success, Amanda, a mother of three, mentioned that her daughter Holly, a fan of Alan, noticed the newfound interest in him among others. Alan himself had endorsed Amanda as a potential participant on The Celebrity Traitors, to which she hinted that she would prefer to be a traitor if she were to join the BBC show.
During the show’s finale, Alan deceived comedian Nick Mohammed and TV historian David Olusoga to emerge victorious, securing the prize money of £87,500 for the charity Neuroblastoma UK. Amanda, a long-time judge on Britain’s Got Talent, expressed her admiration for the show and Alan’s achievement, stating her preference for a more prominent role than a faithful character, even though scheduling conflicts prevented her from participating in The Celebrity Traitors.
