Sky has announced upcoming changes to its TV channel lineup, with the adjustments set to take effect soon. Sky Showcase and Sky Max will be discontinued, leaving viewers without their content starting on Tuesday, February 24. However, to compensate for these closures, Sky is reintroducing the beloved Sky One channel.
Scheduled to launch tomorrow, Sky One will feature a variety of engaging comedy and entertainment programs. New shows like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby will be part of the lineup, alongside returning favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs.. and The Paper and Ted.
Moreover, Sky One will become the new home for Saturday Night Live UK, expected to debut later this year. Carli Kerr, MD of Sky TV & NOW, expressed excitement about the channel’s revamp, emphasizing its focus on delivering high-quality content to subscribers.
In addition to the channel relaunch, Sky will introduce a new plan called Ultimate TV, available for £24 per month. This plan will grant access to a bundle of streaming services including Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, slated for release next month. Subscribers will also gain access to over 130 premium channels like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime.
As an added perk, Sky Cinema users will receive a dedicated Disney movie channel integrated into the TV guide, offering seamless access to Hollywood hits without needing to open the Disney+ app.
The £24 Ultimate TV plan includes:
– Netflix Standard with Ads
– Disney+ Standard with Ads starting in March
– HBO Max Basic with Ads starting on March 26th
– Hayu with a selection of top shows available from March
– Over 130 channels from Sky
The changes are part of Sky’s ongoing efforts to enhance its offerings and provide a wider range of entertainment options to its customers.
