A woman narrowly escaped a potential disaster as her car rolled down to the shoreline at Oddicombe Beach this morning, stopping just a few feet from the water’s edge, according to local authorities.
The incident unfolded around 9 am when a red vehicle unexpectedly descended the steps leading to Oddicombe Beach in Torbay, Devon. Fortunately, the woman inside the car emerged unharmed, as confirmed by Devon and Cornwall Police.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service promptly responded to the scene after receiving a distress call. Their spokesperson mentioned that the car came to a halt just three feet away from the sea, and the woman was already outside the vehicle upon their arrival. The Coastguard also provided assistance during the incident.
A representative from Devon and Cornwall Police stated that emergency services were alerted to the situation of a car rolling onto Oddicombe Beach in Torquay earlier today. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
