Hyperoptic recently announced a mid-contract price increase for its broadband customers. Starting in April 2026, customers will face a £4 monthly rise, up from the previous increase of £3 per month. This change applies to both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans.
Previously, Hyperoptic had emphasized its stance against annual price hikes. However, the company has now joined other major telecom giants in implementing larger price increments in recent times. In a statement from 2023, policy director James Fredrikson highlighted Hyperoptic’s commitment to transparent pricing without mid-contract adjustments.
On a similar note, Sky Mobile shared that the majority of its customers will experience a £1.50 monthly bill increase from February 14, 2026, marking the first price adjustment for in-contract customers in over seven years. Additionally, O2 informed its mobile and SIM-only contract holders about a £2.50 monthly raise from April 2026, exceeding the initially planned £1.80 increase.
Meanwhile, Three mobile users subscribed to data plans of 4GB or less will encounter a £1.80 monthly surge starting April 2026, an increase of 80p compared to the current £1 hike. Those on plans between 4GB and 100GB will see a £1.90 rise, while customers with over 100GB will face a £2.30 increase monthly.
In the broadband sector, Three customers will witness a £3.50 monthly elevation in bills from April 2026, while Vodafone mobile users who sign up from November 12 can expect a £2.50 hike, or a £1.50 rise for Basics SIM plans. Vodafone broadband subscribers will also face a £3.50 monthly price increment.
For consumers out of contract, it is advisable to compare prices online to potentially save on mobile and broadband expenses. Monitoring actual usage of minutes, texts, or broadband speed can help avoid overpaying for unused services. Switching providers or negotiating with the current one for a better deal are viable options. Individuals receiving benefits should explore eligibility for discounted social tariffs.
