Virgin Media is stepping up its game to compete with Freeview by introducing a major upgrade for its TV platform users. The telecoms giant has unveiled three new bonus channels filled with drama, comedy, and sci-fi content, courtesy of an update from Rakuten.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on Ch462, offering popular movies like The Big Short and Gosford Park. Rakuten TV Comedy on Ch463 features films such as Big Momma’s House and The Internship for viewers to enjoy. Lastly, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Ch464 promises a range of content from otherworldly realms.
Customers with Virgin TV 360 and Flex will automatically receive these enhancements, with the channels easily accessible through the TV guide and voice control. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the addition of these streaming channels, providing top-notch entertainment at no extra cost.
With this latest update, Virgin TV users now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enriching their viewing options. While Virgin Media TV requires a subscription fee, the enhanced channel lineup surpasses what is available on free services.
