A BBC weather presenter had to change her travel plans and spend the night in the studios due to heavy snowfall in the UK. With temperatures expected to plummet to as low as -12C in the next 72 hours, people across the country are facing hazardous conditions, travel disruptions, and school closures.

Given her role as a prominent meteorologist at the BBC, Linda Ludlow understands the challenges posed by extreme winter weather. She recently forecasted snow at her home in Devon and decided to stay at work to avoid the risk of injury from slippery conditions.

Linda opted to stay overnight at the studios instead of attempting to commute in the morning, considering the dangerous road conditions with abandoned cars and accidents. Despite her children’s excitement, she clarified that staying at the studios was not as thrilling as they imagined, akin to the movie Night at the Museum.

The Met Office has issued weather warnings for snow and ice in Scotland and icy patches across the UK. The impending arrival of Storm Goretti, along with a cold front, may bring blizzard conditions to England and Wales in the coming days.

Temperatures are expected to drop further, reaching a bone-chilling -12C tonight. According to James Madden from Exacta Weather, moderate to heavy snow showers are forecasted, especially in northern regions, with the potential for snow to cover large areas.

As the wintry weather front moves southward, areas in central and southern England may experience snow, rain, and sleet. Temperatures could plummet to -10 to -12C in the coldest regions by midweek.
