An 11-year-old girl tragically passed away after being discovered unconscious in a swimming pool while on a vacation in Spain.
Francesca Mae Blease was found in a hotel pool on the island of Fuerteventura, as detailed in a coroner’s court hearing. Hailing from Crewe, Cheshire, the young girl was located in the pool on August 7, with subsequent reports indicating that she was taken to a hospital in Gran Canaria where she eventually succumbed on August 8 after her life support was discontinued. Coroner Victoria Davies announced the opening of an official inquest scheduled for January 27 due to the unnatural cause of death.
In a separate incident, a five-year-old British girl tragically lost her life after being found unconscious in a swimming pool during a family trip. Despite being rushed to the Maternal and Child University Hospital of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, the child suffered irreversible brain damage following the pool incident.
Recently, tragedy struck another British family on vacation in Spain when siblings Ameiya, 13, and Ricardo Junior, 11, from Birmingham, drowned at sea while at Salou. The siblings, described as “beautiful” and “bright,” received immediate medical attention following the sea mishap but unfortunately did not survive. According to their aunt, Kayla Jasvinder Del-Brocco, the children were swept away from the shore by strong currents while swimming with their father.
In a separate incident, a British pilot identified as Robbie Conington, aged 30, drowned after encountering difficulties during a late-night swim with friends off a beach in Benidorm. Described as a vibrant presence by colleagues, Robbie’s body was recovered following the incident at Levante Beach, Benidorm. Colleagues and friends lauded him as an exceptional aviator and an all-around great person.
The tragic event was initially reported when Spanish authorities confirmed the recovery of a British tourist’s body after he went missing during the sea outing with his friends. The man, hailing from Biggin Hill, Kent, had extensive flying experience along with a career in aircraft sales.
