Miley Cyrus has revealed that she received misguided dating advice from her mother in the past. The former Disney Channel star, now a successful singer, shared that she had to discover the importance of being treated with respect in a relationship on her own.
In an interview for The Cut alongside her mother and sisters Noah and Brandi, Miley disclosed that while her mom, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, is her go-to for business guidance, she no longer seeks relationship advice from her.
The 32-year-old singer admitted that her mother once encouraged her to stay with attractive but wrong partners. However, Miley emphasized the significance of finding a partner like drummer Maxx Morando, who values and respects her.
Reflecting on her past relationships, Miley acknowledged that before Morando, she had been romantically linked to notable figures like Nick Jonas, Cody Simpson, and was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth. The marriage with Hemsworth took place in 2018 after they lost their home in a California wildfire, but sadly, they parted ways the following year, finalizing their divorce in January 2020.
Tish Cyrus, Miley’s mother, was previously married to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus but finalized their divorce in April 2022. Tish later married Australian actor Dominic Purcell in August 2023, while Billy Ray is currently dating actress Liz Hurley.
Liz recently expressed her love for Billy Ray, stating they have been together for five months and enjoy spending time together watching TV. She mentioned her positive year, which included fronting a breast cancer charity campaign for Estee Lauder and falling in love with her boyfriend.
