Eamonn Holmes made a sudden interruption during a GB News broadcast on Monday. The 65-year-old former This Morning host, back at his hosting duties with Ellie Costello, had to break in to share an important political development with viewers. Holmes noted live footage of Red Cross vehicles navigating crowded Gaza streets without confirmation of their passengers or destination, mentioning that the first seven hostages were handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza and were en route to Israel.
Costello elaborated that upon arrival in Israel, the hostages would first be taken to a military base for reunions with their families, with helicopters stationed at the Southern Israel base awaiting their arrival. Following family reunions, the hostages were expected to receive urgent medical attention.
While absent from GB News recently, Holmes returned to work after updating his health status, including an eye injury he downplayed humorously. He shared photos of his bandaged eye, jokingly stating, “you should see the other guy.” Holmes has faced health challenges affecting his mobility, including a fall on live TV and subsequent hospital visits, stemming from spinal issues requiring surgery due to three slipped discs.
Expressing sadness over his health struggles impacting his marriage to ex-wife Ruth Langsford, Holmes reflected on his declining health and emphasized the need to redouble efforts to stay positive and focused on recovery.
