Two British mothers are in critical condition after being hit by a taxi while returning to their hotel in Ibiza following a meal. Lauren Holmes, 27, and Ebony Cordingley, 26, were enjoying the end of their vacation in Spain when the incident occurred early on Tuesday. The women sustained severe injuries, with Ms. Cordingley suffering fractures in her lower limbs, ribs, and brain bleeding, among other injuries. Fortunately, her condition has improved from critical to stable.

Ms. Holmes, a mother of two, sustained multiple fractures and injuries, including broken legs, arm, spine, and ribs, along with a punctured lung. She is currently receiving intensive care at a separate medical facility. Ebony’s sister, Shannon, launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her sister and her three young sons, emphasizing that the women were not intoxicated but were struck while crossing the road back to their hotel after a casual evening.

In a statement on the fundraising page, Ebony mentioned the uncertainty of her sister’s recovery, highlighting the need for time, care, and strength to heal from the extensive injuries. Another GoFundMe page was set up for Ms. Holmes to cover medical expenses and facilitate her return home for treatment. The family expressed gratitude for any support during the challenging journey ahead.

The Foreign Office confirmed that they are assisting the two British nationals who are hospitalized in Spain and are coordinating with local authorities to provide necessary support.
